Chile's first universal quantum computer

QuAntü is a digital quantum computing platform designed, built and operated entirely in Chile. Its architecture is based on individually trapped neutral rubidium atoms held by light — today one of the most promising routes toward scalable quantum processors.

Section 01 The project

From theory to the trapped atom

Chile has a strong tradition in theoretical quantum information science. QuAntü exists to close the gap between that theoretical capacity and its experimental realisation: to build the hardware here, rather than only program someone else's.

Over three years the platform will evolve from single-atom control to an integrated system capable of executing foundational quantum algorithms, with a hybrid classical–quantum interface operating on real hardware.

QuAntü joins the word quantum with Antü, which in Mapudungun means sun, or light. Origin of the name
